Hot On Your Heels presented by Norco and Republic

Yesterday was an awesome day. Why? I’ll tell you why! Squamish came together for an amazing and singularly Squamish event: Hot on Your Heels; an enduro event strictly for ladies. We love this event so much, we teamed up with Norco to be title sponsors. The race portion of the day was made up of timed decent and cruising climbs with many support stations staffed with Squamish mountain bike men out to support the ladies. Find someone that did the race or manned a booth and I’m sure there will be a good story or two from the day! The evening was, in some minds, the main event. It was amazing to see everyone dressed to the nines and out on the town. Match played host to an great evening of food and dance. Besides the usual race prizes for the fastest of the fast, there was a hotly contested raffle prize….A uniquely Squamish bike a 2015 Norco Sight C7.3 Forma! The cash from the raffle went to a more than deserving cause: to empower young girls, through Big Brothers and Sisters’ Program called “Go Girl!“. The bike went to a very excited new owner, Jenna (pictured above at the moment the magical numbers were called)! All in all, the day was fantastic and we were over the moon to have played a small part in this awesomeness!!! Until next... read more

[Republic doesn’t] just sell amazing bicycles and gear, this shop freely gives a sense of community connectedness and enjoyment in the sport of cycling! Andrea Andres, Squamish

Republic is amazing! Every time I take my bike there they fix it, right (even if it has been worked on elsewhere)! I have been a loyal shop client since 2008 and continue to take my bikes there for service even though I have moved out of the sea-to-sky region. I love that the Republic mechanics never make me feel like my problem is “in my head” and they always have a solution. Easy access to a coffee shop, the Bracken trail head, the dump trails and their bike wash all confirm why I think Republic is the best shop going.

Armand and his staff are awesome. I can’t think of another bike shop with comparable homegrown service and an excellent product line. Top shelf! Craig Elkins, Squamish
